Emily Update- 7.26.16

Hello all!

“You’re no good. You’re no good. You’re no good. Baby, you’re no good.” Is NOT our theme song because Emily is doing great! A little too well, if you ask me because I caught her prancing around the living room like a princess on Saturday.  And, if I remember my fairy tales correctly, if she’s the princess, I think that makes me the scullery maid.

Emmy had her third (out of 4 or 6 depending on scans) chemotherapy treatment and July 18th and it went swimmingly.  A nurse even told us about a Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield which is about 40 minutes from Berkeley. So, clearly we have planned a trip. Bucket list! (I think you can even get a discount on defective jellybeans!)

On a different note, we are switching oncologists at Marin Cancer Care because we’ll be damned if we tolerate hostile, condescending sexist bullshit in any context.  Tell me that guy would have interrupted a man to say, “If you stop talking for a second, I’ll answer your question.” and I’ve got a bridge to sell you.  Please let this be a friendly reminder that we all need to stay woke because patriarchy sure as hell don’t sleep.
